Samsung’s Android-based user interface, One UI, is undergoing a significant change, especially in the camera experience, with its eighth major release. One UI 8.0 introduces a new swipe gesture system that speeds up access to control options in the camera app.
One UI 8.0 will improve the camera experience
The app now supports both horizontal and vertical scrolling. Horizontal scrolling switches between modes, while vertical scrolling quickly switches between the front and rear cameras. Access to camera controls is also made possible directly with a swipe gesture. These controls can be changed from the app settings according to user preferences.

Samsung began its efforts to simplify the camera interface with the previous version, One UI 7. Distracting elements in the viewing area were reduced, the top menu bar was simplified, and the options were moved to the bottom.
The drop-down menu next to the zoom level made these controls accessible without taking up too much space. One UI 8.0 complements this experience with swipe gestures that make it more fluid.
The new version is not limited to just the camera app. One UI 8, which is in beta, includes many innovations and improvements across the system. However, One UI 8 beta updates are currently only available for the Galaxy S25 series.
The S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra models are among the first devices to experience this version. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
