The countdown has officially begun for OnePlus’ upcoming phone, the Nord 5. According to reports so far, the Chinese brand aims to deliver a high-end gaming experience with its new model. So, what exactly does the OnePlus Nord 5 offer?
Countdown Begins for the OnePlus Nord 5
OnePlus will unveil the Nord 5 with a strong focus on gaming performance. The device, set to launch on July 2, is said to sustain 144 FPS gaming for up to five hours at maximum graphics settings, 75 dB sound, and 280 nits of brightness. Features like Adaptive Frame Booster and Pro Gamer Mode, found in OxygenOS 15.1, help improve frame rate stability and power efficiency.

The phone features a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. It also comes with slim bezels and a centered punch-hole camera. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which includes a Cortex-X3 core clocked at 3.2GHz. While it falls slightly behind the newer 8s Gen 4 used in rival models, it still offers strong performance.
The Nord 5 is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a 6,150 mAh battery. Unfortunately, wireless charging is not supported. It also includes a dedicated “Plus Key” button and AI-enhanced photography features. On the back, there’s a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor.
With support for 144 FPS gaming, a high refresh rate display, and a large battery, the Nord 5 is shaping up to be a gaming-focused model in the mid-range segment. While the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 isn’t the latest chip, it still delivers solid gaming performance.
