Apple plans to introduce the first MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models with M5 processors this fall. Last year, the company changed the usual launch order by using the M4 chip first in the iPad Pro. However, this time, it is expected that the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro with M5 processors will be introduced simultaneously.
Apple will come out with its M5 processor products
The iPad Pro with M4 processor was launched in May 2024 and the Mac models with M4 came later. It is stated that this delay will not be experienced in the M5 generation. Looking at Apple’s calendar, the new M5 processor devices are expected to be announced in October or November. It is stated that a new Apple Studio Display may also be released along with the MacBook Pro models with M5 processors during this introduction period.

The MacBook Pro family with M5 processors consists of three different models that will take place in Apple’s professional-level laptop series: M5 MacBook Pro, M5 Pro MacBook Pro, and M5 Max MacBook Pro. There will be no significant changes in these models other than the processor.
Apple; plans to offer new design, OLED display and similar hardware innovations in the next-generation M6 processor models. A similar strategy is being followed on the iPad Pro side. Although it has been previously reported that the production of OLED display panels for the new iPad Pro has begun, no significant hardware update other than the processor is expected in the model to be introduced this year.
It is estimated that the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro with the M5 chip will be the only new M5 processor Apple devices to be introduced in 2025. The other Mac models may receive the M5 update until 2026. This strategy is parallel to Apple’s habit of gradually updating its product calendar during chip transition periods.
