Apple has added a new feature that provides Apple Watch users with more precise information about their battery status with the watchOS 26 update. The smart battery tracking that comes with the update warns the user if the device’s battery is draining unusually quickly.
watchOS 26 will offer battery tracking functionality for Apple Watches
The new feature is based not only on general usage data, but also on individual habits of how the user uses their Apple Watch. This system learns if the watch is behaving differently than usual and sends a notification if there is an unexpected increase in battery consumption, such as increased GPS usage or poor cellular connectivity. With the warning, the user can directly access battery saving settings such as switching to Low Power Mode.

Other innovations that come with watchOS 26 include the new Liquid Glass interface design, Workout Buddy, which offers personalized voice motivation support for the user, proactive Smart Grouping suggestions, functions such as turning off notifications with a wrist gesture and muting calls. In addition, the watch face gallery has been redesigned and Control Center is now more customizable.
watchOS 26 is currently in developer beta. The final version is planned to be released in the fall when the new Apple Watch models will be introduced. The update can be installed on Apple Watch Series 6 and newer models.
