Samsung is expanding the Audio Removal tool to a wider area of use with the Android 16-based One UI 8 update. With its updated version, the Galaxy AI-powered tool can now automatically eliminate background noise in real time during video playback. Thus, sound quality is improved during viewing without the need for any editing.
One UI 8 will offer an advanced audio removal tool
The current Audio Removal tool was introduced with the Galaxy S25 series along with One UI 7 and could only be used in the Gallery app. The video had to be put into editing mode to reduce background noise.

This limitation is being lifted with One UI 8. The Audio Removal tool can now also be actively used in apps such as Samsung Notes and Voice Recorder. Users can eliminate background noises such as ambient sound or humming by tapping the Galaxy AI button in these apps.
It is stated that the new version offers a significant improvement, especially in terms of speed. Thanks to the real-time processing feature, it becomes possible for users to get direct results without having to deal with any editing process. The tool is integrated into specific apps, but it is being made compatible with more apps system-wide.
The updated Voice Delete tool will reportedly be available with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models, which are expected to be introduced on July 9. As of that date, the tool will be directly included in the new models. Previous flagship models are also planned to be made compatible with this feature via a software update.
Samsung’s step in audio processing stands out as a remarkable innovation, especially for content creators and users who frequently record audio. This system, which reduces the need for external software to suppress background noise, aims to offer voice control directly at the operating system level on mobile devices.
