New developments continue to emerge regarding the Xiaomi 16 series, which is expected to be introduced later this year. The latest news indicates that the global version of the standard model has passed a significant milestone ahead of its official launch.
Xiaomi 16 Receives EEC Certification
The Xiaomi 16 has received EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) certification under the model number 25113PN0EG. This suggests that the official unveiling of the phone is just around the corner. Unfortunately, the certification does not reveal any technical specifications.

Like its predecessors, the Xiaomi 16 is expected to continue the current flagship chipset tradition. Barring any setbacks, the smartphone will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which is expected to debut at the 2025 Snapdragon Summit in September. This chip is said to bring significant improvements over its predecessor.
Previous leaks suggest the device will feature a 6.3-inch RGB OLED display with 2K resolution support. It is also expected to house a large 7,000 mAh battery. On the camera front, it may sport a triple camera setup consisting of a 50 MP main sensor (supported by a 1/1.3-inch sensor), a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens.
The Xiaomi 16 is rumored to run HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. The device is expected to launch in China later this year, followed by a global release in the first quarter of 2026.
