Launched in 2008, the Volvo XC60 quickly became a centerpiece of Volvo’s global success thanks to its safety, refinement, and refined driving experience. Now, for the 2026 model year, it redefines the standards in its segment once again with its modernized design, next-generation user interface, and advanced infotainment system.
Erik Severinson, Volvo’s Executive Vice President of Product and Strategy, said, “With its cutting-edge user experience, modernized Scandinavian design, enhanced comfort, and even more luxurious interior, the XC60 further raises the bar for mid-size SUVs. These improvements will be enhanced over time thanks to over-the-air updates, providing drivers with a more enjoyable and exclusive experience.”
What does the new Volvo XC60 offer?
The refreshed XC60 comes equipped with Volvo Cars’ next-generation user experience. This experience makes interacting with the car’s central infotainment screen more enjoyable and safe. Designed to be more focused and personalized than before, the system also includes built-in Google features.

The 11.2-inch freestanding central touchscreen, with a 21% increase in pixel density for an even sharper display, further enhances the XC60 experience, opening up a world of new features, apps, and over-the-air updates.
The refreshed XC60 is available with both plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid powertrains. The XC60 Plug-in Hybrid delivers 455 hp combined with the T8 AWD powertrain, and according to WLTP testing, offers an all-electric range of up to 80 kilometers on a single charge, ensuring zero tailpipe emissions for daily commutes. It is also available in Black Edition and Polestar Engineering versions.
Thanks to Qualcomm Technologies’ next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, the Google-integrated infotainment system generates graphics ten times faster and delivers twice the speed of the previous system. This provides the XC60 with a more responsive infotainment system that reduces driver distractions and displays the right information at the right time to enhance safety.
The refreshed XC60’s exterior gives the premium five-seater a more contemporary look. Featuring a new front grille featuring Volvo Cars’ iconic logo and tinted taillights, the refreshed XC60 also offers new wheel options.
Two new color options will be available for the new model year: Forest Lake and Aurora Silver. Mulberry Red will also debut on the XC60. The XC60’s interior becomes more versatile and practical with clever storage options, new cupholders, an improved wireless phone charger, and a convenient and spacious load compartment.
The XC60’s journey is more comfortable than ever thanks to an even quieter cabin and Volvo Cars’ legendary seat comfort. For an even more luxurious driving experience, air suspension and laminated windows are available as options.
The refreshed XC60 features a Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity sound system with a new speaker mesh design. This system, which reproduces music as original without distorting it, just as musicians intended, makes it one of the best car audio systems in its segment.
