    Another blow to Nokia: The parent company has stopped sales in one country

    HMD Global, the Finnish company behind Nokia phones, is withdrawing from the US market.

    Finnish company HMD Global, the parent company behind Nokia phones, has decided to downsize its operations in the US market. The company cited economic difficulties as the reason behind this decision. HMD’s official US online store has been taken offline, and all device sales in the region have been halted.

    Known for licensing the Nokia brand for new phones and tablets over the past decade, HMD Global announced it will “shrink” its US operations and completely stop selling both HMD and Nokia devices.

    HMD’s US store is currently offline. Some product pages are still accessible, but the purchase buttons are either disabled or completely removed. Devices like the HMD Skyline can still be found on third-party platforms such as Amazon, but it is unclear how long the stock will last.

    The company stated that warranty and technical support services for existing devices will continue through its global customer service network. However, no information has been provided about how this decision will affect employees in the US.
