US President Donald Trump has announced a massive plan to transform Pennsylvania into a hub for artificial intelligence and energy technologies, involving over $90 billion in private sector investments. Tech and financial giants such as Google, Amazon, Blackstone, and Meta have joined the project, announced as part of the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit.
Donald Trump to Build $90 Billion Artificial Intelligence Hub
In his statement, Trump stated that the state will become a strategic hub for both energy and high technology. The slogan “Drill, baby, drill,” which he reiterated at the summit, clearly highlighted the energy pillars of the projects’ reliance on fossil fuels. Pennsylvania, one of the largest natural gas production centers in the US, is also poised to host a large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure with these investments.

One of the largest investments under the plan is Blackstone’s $25 billion data center and energy infrastructure development project. First Energy is embarking on a $15 billion expansion to increase its energy production capacity in the state.
Canada-based Enbridge is allocating $1 billion for new natural gas pipelines to the state, while Norway-based Equinor is embarking on a $1.6 billion project that combines natural gas production and the energy needs of AI data centers. Capital Power is preparing for a $3 billion natural gas facility modernization over the next decade.
In addition to these energy-focused investments, significant steps are also being taken in technology. Google announced a $25 billion investment in data centers and AI infrastructure across the state. A $3 billion hydropower agreement with Brookfield Energy also adds a new dimension to the project, particularly regarding green energy use.
Investing in AI infrastructure, CoreWeave announced the construction of a new $6 billion data center in Pennsylvania. Anthropic announced a three-year grant of $1 million for energy research at Carnegie Mellon University, along with a $1 million grant for cybersecurity training.
Meta will launch a $2.5 million local development program to support initiatives in rural Pennsylvania. Amazon, meanwhile, reaffirmed its previously announced $20 billion investment plan in artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Trump’s announced investment package isn’t limited to energy and technology. It outlines a comprehensive plan to transform the state in many areas, including education, research, local development, and infrastructure development. The project aims to enhance Pennsylvania’s strategic importance within the US by combining its natural gas wealth with technology.
