Germany-based audio equipment manufacturer Ascendo Immersive Audio has introduced a new subwoofer that will set the bar for home theater systems. Following the company’s previous 80-inch model, which it touted as the world’s most powerful, a new 100-inch (2.54-meter) model has now been unveiled. This new subwoofer represents the ultimate in the company’s high-end performance and engineering.
World’s Largest Subwoofer Unveiled
Ascendo, which has been producing amplifiers and speaker systems since 1999, previously attracted attention with its 50-inch custom-made subwoofer featuring a 13.5-inch dual voice coil. The subsequent 80 Sub was the company’s most powerful and sensitive cinema subwoofer.

Now, two new models have been introduced: 64-inch and 100-inch. These new products, with their technical specifications and physical dimensions, are among the largest subwoofers ever produced for home theaters.
The 100 Sub Pro model utilizes a shallower compliance curve to enhance performance. Furthermore, the four-way suspension system has been redesigned to ensure more accurate and balanced voice coil movement across the entire frequency range. This structure, thanks to the use of advanced materials, provides quieter and more controlled operation. The 21-inch voice coil at the center is larger in diameter than many full-size subwoofers on the market.
The cabinet structure has also undergone significant updates. Enclosure depth has been increased to enhance low-frequency response, and damping materials of varying densities are used to lower resonance frequencies.
A variety of enclosure options are available, along with an internal support structure that can be customized to user needs. This makes the system not only robust but also structurally flexible. The driver unit weighs approximately 260 kilograms. This weight can be further increased with custom enclosures.
The new subwoofers set a benchmark not only in sound levels but also in sensitivity, speed, and frequency control. No official information has been shared regarding the price of the products, but considering the physical dimensions and the technology used, it is clear that they are only appealing to high-end professional or private home theater systems.
