The absence of any announcements about Bethesda’s space-themed role-playing game, Starfield, at last month’s Xbox Games Showcase event has raised questions about the game’s future.
Starfield may officially be coming to PlayStation
Starfield, one of Xbox’s biggest exclusives, was expected to receive a new expansion this year. However, the latest information suggests that this update could be pushed back to 2026 at the earliest. The delay is allegedly due to a plan for the PlayStation 5.

The ever-popular Starfield game appears poised to launch on the PlayStation platform soon.
According to MP1st, a well-known leaker in the gaming industry, Starfield’s next expansion will not be an Xbox exclusive. It is alleged that the expansion has been delayed to be released alongside the PlayStation 5 version.
This claim aligns with Microsoft’s recent multi-platform release strategy. Following the succession of Xbox-exclusive titles ported to PC and PlayStation 5, Starfield is expected to join this list.
The failure of last year’s Shattered Space expansion to garner the expected attention may have been a deciding factor in this strategy shift. According to information reported by MP1st, Xbox management wants the new expansion to reach a wider user base.
Therefore, the goal is to offer more comprehensive content, released simultaneously with the PS5 version of the game. In line with this approach, the expansion is planned to be given additional time to expand the content.
While this development creates positive expectations for PlayStation 5 users, it also means uncertainty for Xbox players. If the rumors are true, Starfield will not receive a major content update this year.
No official statement has yet been made by Xbox and Bethesda. However, the silence of Starfield, which has been a key player in the game showcase, throughout 2025 raises questions about the company’s content schedule.
