With iOS 26, Apple is launching a new feature that will significantly simplify iPhone users’ daily communication habits. With this feature, which debuted in the developer beta, forgetting to return missed calls is largely a thing of the past.
iOS 26 Starts Reminding You of Missed Calls
iOS 26 allows users to set reminders for missed calls directly from the app, thanks to the reminder option integrated into the Phone app.

The new feature works in the “Recents” tab of the Phone app. When users swipe left on a missed call in the list, a blue “Reminder” icon appears. Tapping this icon offers various call time options.
For example, reminders can be set for specific timeframes, such as in an hour, in the evening, or the next day. Reminders can be managed through the Reminders app on iPhone.
This new feature is available in both the classic view and the new unified interface introduced with iOS 26. The unified layout also includes a dedicated area for reminders at the top of the Recents screen. This allows users to view not only missed calls but also previously set reminders on a single screen.
It’s noteworthy that Apple didn’t explicitly announce this feature in the beta release notes. However, this detail, discovered by developers, demonstrates that iOS 26 isn’t limited to visual improvements and system performance; it also includes functional enhancements that directly impact daily usage practices.
The fifth beta version of iOS 26 was released to developers on August 5, 2025. The stable version is expected to be released for all users in September, at the same event where Apple will unveil the new iPhone 17 series. The new version aims to deepen the user experience on the communication side, along with other features such as automatic call waiting and call screening.
