Vodafone, operating with the vision of leading Turkey’s digitalization, continues to be one of the biggest supporters of the development of gaming and esports through its youth brand, Vodafone FreeZone. In partnership with FUT Esports, as its main sponsor, Vodafone FreeZone organized the world’s first intercontinental Brawl Stars tournament. With over 700 teams and over 2,000 players participating, the Vodafone FreeZone 5G Intercontinental Brawl Stars Tournament was won by the Döner Kebap team. Zion Academy took second place, and Flaying Aces took third.
The tournament began with online qualifiers, and the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals were played on the FreeZone boat on the Beşiktaş-Üsküdar ferry line. The final stage of the tournament, which spanned Europe and Asia using Vodafone 5G technology, was followed by three lucky FreeZone members selected through social media campaigns, along with two lucky winners and approximately 20 influencers who attended the Brawl Stars Festival in Vodafone stores from August 4-6. The tournament provided young gamers with the opportunity to experience the 5G technology offered through a test permit and experience the 5G difference in gaming with Vodafone. FreeZone members received a 20% discount on 5G-compatible Samsung phones throughout the tournament through Vodafone FLEX.
As part of the Vodafone FreeZone 5G Intercontinental Brawl Stars Tournament, first-place team members received a Galaxy Z Flip 7 smartphone, second-place team members received a Galaxy Tab 10 FE tablet, third-place team members received a Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch, and fourth-place and fifth-place team members received Galaxy Buds FE headphones. During the tournament, Vodafone stores also offered special surprises for Brawl Stars fans and exclusive gaming opportunities for FreeZone members. Each team that qualified for the final 64 received 240 GEM.
