Apple will roll out the redesigned Blood Oxygen feature to some Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 users with an iPhone and Apple Watch software update released later today.
Apple Watch Will Better Measure Blood Oxygen
Users in the US with these models who do not currently have Blood Oxygen will be able to access the redesigned Blood Oxygen feature by updating their paired iPhone to iOS 18.6.1 and their Apple Watch to watchOS 11.6.1.

Following this update, sensor data from the Blood Oxygen app on Apple Watch will be measured and calculated on the paired iPhone, and the results will be viewable in the Respiration section of the Health app.
This update was enabled by a recent US Customs ruling. There will be no changes to previously purchased Apple Watch units that include the original Blood Oxygen feature, or Apple Watch units purchased outside the US.
Apple teams are dedicated to developing products and services that empower users with industry-leading health, wellness, and security features that are science-based and privacy-first.
Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra also offer users a range of useful tools to help them live healthier lives, including irregular rhythm notifications, an ECG app, Sleep Apnea Notifications, Fall Detection, sleep tracking, wrist-based temperature detection, Vitals app, Noise app, Medication app, and Mindfulness app.
