Google has announced revolutionary updates to Google AI Mode to help users complete their daily tasks much faster and more efficiently. These innovations, confirmed by Google Search Product Vice President Robby Stein, transform AI into a personal assistant.
What does Google AI Mode promise?
One of the most striking innovations is that AI can now complete tasks on users’ behalf. Initially managing restaurant reservations, the system will soon be available for local services. For example, it will manage hair appointments and ticketed events.

Users can specify their requests with a simple command like “Italian cuisine for two tonight at 8 p.m.” AI Mode uses this information to simultaneously scan multiple platforms like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock to find suitable options in seconds. The results are presented in a carefully curated list and include direct links to complete the reservation. This feature is powered by powerful infrastructure technologies such as Google Maps, the Knowledge Graph, and Project Mariner.
Google is making AI more personalized. As part of the “AI Mode Labs” experiment, launched specifically for users in the US, the system now offers personalized suggestions based on your past searches and preferences.
For example, when you ask, “Can you recommend a place where I can grab a quick lunch in an hour?”, the AI considers your favorite cuisine based on your previous searches. It also considers your dietary preferences and your preferred seating arrangement (e.g., outdoor seating) and generates results accordingly. Google emphasizes that users retain control over the information they share. It also states that personalization settings can be adjusted at any time.
The collaboration feature added to AI Mode simplifies group planning, such as travel, events, or friend meetings. You can share a search result or plan with your friends via a link. People who click the link can continue the existing conversation. They can also ask new questions or contribute to the plan by adding their own suggestions. These shared chat links can be deleted by the sender at any time.
Previously only available in the US, India, and the UK, AI Mode is now available in English in over 180 new countries and regions with this update. Google has stated that it plans to add support for new languages and regions in the near future. However, it’s worth noting that Turkey is not among these countries.
These advanced features are currently available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US through a Labs experiment called “Agency Capabilities in AI Mode.” However, the global expansion is seen as a sign that these innovations will soon reach more users.
