Apple and Google, two giants in the tech world, are in critical collaboration talks for the revamped Siri. There’s talk that Apple could use Google’s Gemini AI for its AI-powered Siri, which Apple has been developing for a long time. This development is seen as a significant indicator that Apple is seeking a solution to overcome challenges in its own AI projects.
Apple to Offer Google Gemini Integration
According to reports, Google is training a custom version of Gemini that can run on Apple’s own servers. Apple has reportedly also previously discussed similar partnerships with companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.

However, the company hasn’t yet decided which AI model it will ultimately use. According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on two different versions of Siri: “Linwood,” developed in-house, and “Glenwood,” which uses external technologies.
This situation once again highlights Apple’s challenges in the field of AI. Apple announced many new AI features with iOS 18, but it was unable to deliver Siri, which can perform actions within apps using personal data, on time.
This delay was officially acknowledged in March, and it was announced that the new Siri would be available in 2026. This delay has led Apple to lean more towards the idea of using a third-party model.
With the release of the Pixel 10, it appears that Gemini will offer similar functionality to what Apple promised with the new Siri. A special version of Gemini, running on Google’s own servers and hardware, could provide an additional layer of security for Apple.
This could put Apple in a similar position to Samsung. Samsung’s Galaxy AI is also based on both its own models and Gemini. Like Samsung, Apple is expected to support some AI features with Gemini.
