The horror classic Silent Hill is returning to the big screen with a new film after many years. The first highly anticipated trailer for “Return to Silent Hill,” a film based on Silent Hill 2, one of the most beloved installments in the series, has been released. The film is directed by Christophe Gans, who also directed the first Silent Hill film in 2006. Gans seems to have done an impressive job of bringing the series’ eerie atmosphere and spirit to the screen.
Return to Silent Hill is Here
The producers state that the film is a remarkably faithful adaptation of Silent Hill 2. The story of the 2001 game, which also saw a remake last year, is told in the same way. The film stars Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson.
In the film, Jeremy Irvine plays James, who travels to Silent Hill with a mysterious letter from his lost love, Mary. James discovers that Silent Hill, once an ordinary town, has been overtaken by an evil force, and as he tries to find Mary in this terrifying town, he encounters nightmarish creatures and mysteries.
Cineverse has begun promoting the film, and its US release date has been set for January. Originally scheduled for a November 21st release in Turkey, the film has not yet been announced for a new Turkish release date following the postponement of its US release.
