Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet, the Galaxy Z TriFold, may land sooner than expected, with a new leak pointing to a late September debut.
Galaxy Z TriFold could headline next Galaxy Unpacked

Leaker Ice Universe has shared a fresh tip that Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Z TriFold on September 29 during its next Galaxy Unpacked event in South Korea. This would mark the company’s fourth major product launch of 2025 and introduce a dual-hinged foldable form factor that’s been years in the making.
Leaks suggest Samsung will also showcase its Project Moohan XR headset (possibly rebranded as “Galaxy XR”) and preview AI-powered smart glasses at the same event.
What to expect from the Galaxy Z TriFold event
According to the leak, here’s what Samsung could showcase on September 29:
- Galaxy Z TriFold (aka Galaxy G Fold)
- Project Moohan / Galaxy XR headset
- “Galaxy Glasses” smart eyewear (teased only)
Samsung plans to start selling the XR headset on October 13 in Korea, and the TriFold may launch around the same time in Q4.
This Galaxy may stay exclusive to Asia
Previous reports suggest the Galaxy Z TriFold will be limited to South Korea and China at launch. With a price rumored to start around ₩4 million (~$2,930 USD), Samsung seems to be targeting early adopters in select regions rather than pushing for a global rollout just yet.
That price tag reflects the complexity of the design, which features a dual-hinge structure capable of folding in multiple directions. While not technically a “tri-fold,” the branding may stick due to its three-panel display setup.
Galaxy XR headset and AI glasses may share the spotlight
The event won’t just be about foldables. The Galaxy XR headset is also expected to debut, priced between ₩2.5–4 million (~$1,800–$2,000 USD). Unlike the TriFold, the XR device may reach global markets, though launch delays outside Korea are likely.
Samsung may also tease its AI-powered “Galaxy Glasses,” a product that was previously rumored for late 2026. The reveal could be similar to past previews of unreleased tech, just enough to build hype.
Galaxy Z TriFold launch signals next-gen foldable era
The Galaxy Z TriFold could redefine what foldables look like going forward. While its global future remains uncertain, Samsung seems ready to show off its most technically complex phone yet, and that alone makes September 29 a date worth watching.
