Adobe is preparing to make its popular video editing app free for iOS device owners. The Adobe Premiere app for iOS is slated for release on September 30th.
Adobe Premiere will be available on iOS
With the iOS app, which includes many of the desktop app’s features, creators can combine video footage, fine-tune individual frames, and add unlimited video, text, or audio overlays, including voiceovers. The app can handle 4K HDR footage.
It also includes Adobe Lightroom color presets to give footage a polished look. Videos can be resized to suit the platform they’ll be published on, and it allows for easy export to platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram with a single tap.
Adobe stated that it will offer all these traditional features ad-free and free, and that videos can be exported without watermarks. This move makes it a strong competitor to apps like TikTok’s CapCut and Instagram’s Edits.
Users who want additional AI-powered features can purchase AI credits. These credits can be used to create sound effects, implement speech enhancements, or access AI assets created through Adobe Firefly. Additional cloud storage is also available for purchase.
Users can already pre-register for the Adobe Premiere app on the App Store. An Android version of the app is currently in development.
