Tesla is making headlines with a new price update for electric vehicle owners in Turkey. As of September 8th, the company has increased charging fees at its Supercharger stations for the third time in the last two months. The increase is particularly noticeable for non-Tesla electric vehicle owners.
New Tesla Supercharger Prices
With the latest regulation, the per kilowatt-hour (kWh) fee for Tesla vehicle owners has increased from 8.50 TL to 8.90 TL. This represents a modest 4.7% increase. However, for owners of other electric vehicles, the tariff has jumped from 10.60 TL to 12.50 TL, an 18% increase.
Here is the new pricing table:
- For Tesla Owners: 8.50 TL/kWh → 8.90 TL/kWh
- For Other Brand Vehicles: 10.60 TL/kWh → 12.50 TL/kWh
- Station Shutdown (Standby) Fee: 20 TL/minute (Unchanged)
Tesla previously increased prices on July 25th and August 8th. With these latest increases, the company limited the increase for its own customers while bringing its tariff for other brands closer to the level of competing charging operators.
Supercharger stations, open to all electric vehicles regardless of brand, were highly popular due to their competitive pricing. However, it is anticipated that the new pricing may lead to a decrease in the number of non-Tesla vehicle owners choosing these stations.
Tesla has a total of 16 Supercharger stations across Turkey, located in key locations such as Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bolu, Denizli, Balıkesir, and Aydın.
