Ferrari has unveiled an all-new model, the 849 Testarossa, as the successor to the SF90. This hybrid hypercar, the brand’s most powerful production model to date, revives the long-established Testarossa name.
The New Ferrari Testarossa Roars
At the heart of the new Testarossa is an enhanced version of Ferrari’s F154 V8 engine. Equipped with more powerful internals and larger turbochargers, the engine produces 818 horsepower on its own. In addition, three electric motors—two at the front and one at the rear—add an additional 216 horsepower, bringing the total output to 1,035 horsepower.

All-wheel drive and torque vectoring come standard with this system. Thanks to its 6.5 kWh battery, the car offers a 26-kilometer range on electric power alone and allows for electric driving at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
The performance figures are impressive. The new Testarossa accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and has a top speed exceeding 330 km/h. Its aerodynamics are also specifically designed to support performance.
The car features an active rear spoiler that can be deployed and retracted in less than a second, and “twin tail” wings integrated into the rear bumper. This generates 415 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, a 25 kg increase over the SF90. Furthermore, the optional Assetto Fiorano package saves 30 kg compared to the standard model and reduces the vehicle’s dry weight to 1,570 kg.
While its design may not be entirely similar to the original model, the new Testarossa does retain some classic details. The gloss black strip connecting the headlights and the angular shape of the front bumper are particularly nods to the Testarossa of the past.
The car is available in two body styles: coupe and Spider. The Spider version features a folding roof that can be opened and closed in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 45 km/h. This mechanism adds approximately 90 kg to the vehicle’s load.
The interior features a driver-focused design. Touch controls on the steering wheel are replaced by traditional buttons, while the digital display supports connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MyFerrari Connect. Wireless charging is also standard.
Ferrari has begun accepting pre-orders for the new 849 Testarossa. Prices in Europe for the coupe version start at €460,000, while the Spider version starts at €500,000. Production begins next year.
