Automotive giant Toyota has introduced a refreshed design to its popular Corolla model. Images shared by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have revealed the facelifted Corolla Sedan for the first time.
New-generation Toyota Corolla spied
The new Corolla borrows its design language from the brand’s other new models, the Prius, CH-R, and RAV4. At the front, the car features C-shaped headlights, a thin LED strip connecting them, and a simpler bumper. The headlights are also positioned lower.

The Corolla’s side remains unchanged aside from new wheels. The rear end isn’t as significantly transformed as the front. The taillights retain their shape and design, but they’ve been darkened. A thin LED strip has been added between the taillights. The bumper design is almost identical to the current model.
The facelifted Toyota Corolla will be sold in China with 1.8-liter hybrid and 2.0-liter gasoline engine options. The vehicle’s launch is scheduled soon. It’s not yet known whether this design change will be limited to the Chinese market.
With the launch of the refreshed Toyota Corolla in China, there’s been a lot of speculation about when and what changes it will bring to global markets. It’s a well-known fact in the automotive world that design changes made in the Chinese market often spread to other markets.
Therefore, this refreshed design is expected to be reflected in Corolla models sold in Europe and North America. However, Toyota hasn’t yet made an official statement on the matter. What are your thoughts on this vehicle? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
