Electric car manufacturer Tesla is rolling out a highly anticipated software update to its older Intel-based vehicles. With the 2025.32.2 update, driver visualization in these vehicles will now function fully in reverse.
Tesla has introduced a software improvement to older models
Previously, the company offered detailed vector-based visualization in forward motion, but when engaging reverse, the system displayed simple gray lines and a less detailed display. For vehicles equipped with Intel Atom (MCU 2) processors and ultrasonic sensors, this update brings full FSD (Full Self-Driving) visualization to reverse.

Tesla models with newer AMD processors have long supported this functionality without any issues. However, this feature was not previously available in MCU 2 vehicles due to processing power limitations. Tesla has addressed this deficiency in older hardware with software improvements.
This change is more than just a visual feature; it demonstrates Tesla’s continued support for older vehicles. Although the update was an undocumented change in Tesla’s official release notes, it was noticed by users and shared with additional documentation. This development further demonstrates Tesla’s commitment to its existing vehicle portfolio and its software-focused approach.
This move stands out as an example of Tesla’s ongoing efforts to continuously improve the experience for existing vehicle owners, not only with new models but also with existing ones. Tesla has proven that it can overcome hardware limitations with software updates to bring modern features to its older vehicles.
