Instagram has finally addressed a problem that content creators have long complained about. It was noticed that users who shared multiple Stories per day on the platform saw their reach drop.
Instagram Fixes Stories Issue
Instagram President Adam Mosseri announced last Friday that this issue was not the platform’s intention and that the bug had been fixed. This eliminated the issue of consecutive Stories negatively impacting reach.

Mosseri noted in his announcement that users frequently complained about their reach decreasing when they shared multiple Stories in the same day. With the fix, it became clear that each new Story shared would no longer limit its potential reach.
This brings a significant improvement, particularly in terms of the visibility of the first Story. However, this fix doesn’t necessarily mean that followers will see or engage with every new Story.
This change may not make a significant difference for those who use Instagram solely to connect with their close circle. However, the platform has increasingly evolved into a more professional content ecosystem in recent years.
Like YouTube, many people actively use Instagram to reach large audiences and generate revenue. Therefore, every update regarding reach directly impacts creators’ strategies and forces them to reshape their plans. The new regulation offers creators a more flexible sharing plan.
