vivo’s upcoming X300 series comes with not only advanced processors and cameras, but also a new connectivity feature that challenges the ease of file sharing in the Apple ecosystem. The most striking innovation in the series will be a tool, much like AirDrop, that aims to make file sharing more seamless. Here are the details.
New feature will allow file transfers between Android and Mac
According to a statement on Weibo by a vivo executive, the X300 Pro and X300 will ship with OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, the X300 Pro is positioned as vivo’s strongest bet against the iPhone 17 series.
OriginOS 6’s new file sharing feature will work just like Apple’s AirDrop. Users will be able to send files wirelessly between their Vivo smartphones and Apple devices like Macs and iPads. The only requirement is that both devices be logged into a Vivo account. The lack of any cables or public Wi-Fi network connection makes this feature extremely useful.
While the feature still operates within Vivo’s own ecosystem, its ability to connect directly with Apple products is a significant step toward breaking down the barriers between Android and iOS.
Vivo’s other new models, including the iQOO 15 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, will also ship with OriginOS 6 and the same file sharing tool. On the hardware front, the X300 Pro is expected to feature a Hasselblad-developed quad-camera setup and a sleek design. For those who prefer a smaller footprint, the X300 will offer a more portable experience.
This feature will now allow wireless connection between Vivo and Mac/iPad products. What are your thoughts on this? Share your thoughts in the comments.
