Apple made significant changes to the Battery screen in the Settings app with the iOS 26 update. Among these changes is a smart feature that helps you understand why your iPhone’s battery is draining too quickly. Here’s what’s new in iOS 26.
iOS 26 Detects Rapid iPhone Battery Drain
Sometimes your phone’s battery can drain faster than normal. iOS 26 will reveal the cause of this problem. With the new update announced by Apple, the iOS 26 Battery Settings screen has been completely revamped to address this issue.

In previous iOS versions, there was a long list of battery consumption data, and it was quite difficult to find the app causing the problem. However, things are different now. When iOS 26 detects that your battery is draining faster than normal, it clearly indicates this and offers suggestions as to what might be the problem.
As you can see in the images above, your battery consumption is now compared to your normal usage patterns in a graph. Apps and system activities that exhibit unusual consumption are specifically highlighted.
In iOS 26, apps with higher than normal battery consumption are highlighted with a special orange color, alerting you to potential problems. This highlighting isn’t just based on total consumption; it also indicates that an app is using more power than it should.
So, how do you like the new update? Let us know in the comments.
