At its highly anticipated 2025 Lei Jun Annual Keynote, Xiaomi officially announced the Xiaomi 17 series smartphones, as well as the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, which strengthen its position in the tablet market. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is designed for those who don’t compromise on performance. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, developed on a 3nm process and boasting over 3 million AnTuTu scores. With an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 4.32GHz and an Adreno GPU, the tablet delivers a desktop-level experience for multitasking, 4K video editing, and high-end gaming.

One of the device’s most striking features is its 11.2-inch, 3.2K (3200×2136) resolution LCD display. With a high refresh rate of up to 144Hz, 12-bit color depth, and 800 nits of peak brightness, it promises stunning visuals. Support for HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid, along with TÜV eye protection and DC dimming, ensures comfort during extended use.

The Matte Edition is designed to deliver an experience similar to writing on paper. This special edition uses AG nano-texture etching and an AR coating to reduce reflections by 70 percent and eliminate 99 percent of stray light, making digital reading and writing much more natural.

The Pad 8 Pro also excels in photography and video, boasting a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture on the rear and 4K 60fps video recording. On the front, there’s a 32MP ultra-wide-angle camera. This camera enhances video conferencing and meetings with features like auto-centering, fill light, and gesture controls. The audio experience is bolstered by a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support and a quad-microphone setup with AI-powered noise cancellation.

The device comes with a 9200mAh high-density battery that supports 67W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. Xiaomi claims this battery can provide up to 10.5 hours of gaming, 14 hours of video playback, and over 20 hours of online meetings. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB 3.2 Gen1 port with 5Gbps speed.

The device is available in Black, Turquoise Green, and Ice Crystal Blue. Accessories such as the Focus Pro stylus and magnetic keyboard (699 yuan / ~$98) are sold separately.
