The Kia Telluride, which has been a sales success since 2019, is preparing to debut with its second generation. The model will be fully unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 20th. The current Telluride saw a 13 percent increase in sales as of the end of September. Kia aims to continue this success with the new generation.
The new Kia Telluride is making its debut
Kia has shared a few teaser images of the vehicle ahead of its unveiling. While the images are shrouded in darkness, some details are still striking. As expected, the new Telluride retains its angular lines and adopts the brand’s current design language. It features a modern interpretation of the vertical headlights. The front fascia carries design cues from the EV9 model but still features a functional grille for engine cooling.

Under the hood, the engine options are expected to be the same as those of its sister model, the Hyundai Palisade. The Palisade is powered by a new 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine producing 287 horsepower.
Alternatively, a hybrid system featuring a 2.5-liter turbo-four engine paired with two electric motors is expected to be offered. This hybrid system will produce 329 horsepower. Both engines will be available with front- or all-wheel drive.
The new Telluride is likely to increase slightly in size compared to its predecessor. Hyundai has increased the Palisade’s length and wheelbase, providing more space in the third row. Kia is expected to follow suit.
Furthermore, given the Palisade’s slightly wider and taller dimensions, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar growth spurt for the Telluride. Pricing-wise, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade starts at $41,000, while the current Telluride starts at $37,885.
This price gap is expected to narrow somewhat with the arrival of the new generation. However, Kia’s flagship SUV is expected to maintain a strong price/performance ratio.
