Next-generation Xbox will be able to run PlayStation games!

The next-generation Xbox console is coming to Windows. Rumors suggest it will even be able to run PlayStation games.

Microsoft is preparing for a move that will shift the balance of power in the gaming world. The next-generation Xbox console, confirmed by Xbox President Sarah Bond, will reportedly be Windows-based and even capable of running rival PlayStation games.

Xbox executives stated that the new console will offer a “very premium and high-end” experience. According to industry sources, the device will essentially function like a pre-built Windows-based PC. This strategy aligns with Microsoft’s recent push for portable devices running Windows 11, such as the ROG Xbox Ally X.

The new console is planned to feel like a traditional Xbox right out of the box. Users will be able to fully integrate into the Xbox ecosystem without ever touching the Windows interface. This approach further reinforces Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” vision, encompassing consoles, PCs, and mobile devices.

The next-generation ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are now available in Türkiye. The ROG Xbox Ally is available for ₺37,999, while the Xbox Ally X is available for ₺58,999.
    PlayStation Games and Industry Criticism
The device’s Windows-based nature could theoretically allow it to play games released by PlayStation for PC (like God of War and Spider-Man), as well as games from stores like Steam or GOG. However, this also raises the criticism, “Why not just buy a PC?” Furthermore, with Xbox exclusives like Halo coming to the PS5, it’s questionable why consumers would choose expensive Xbox hardware.
