Huawei is expected to unveil the highly anticipated Mate 80 series in China in November, while the Huawei Mate X7, the newest member of its foldable phone lineup, is also slated for release that same month. Reliable leakster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has leaked key specifications for the company’s new foldable flagship, codenamed “Delphi.”
A Foldable Monster Powered by a Kirin 9030 Chip is Coming
The Mate X7’s most ambitious feature is undoubtedly its foldable display. According to DCS, the device will feature a 7.95-inch main display equipped with cutting-edge technologies that will maximize the visual experience:
- Display: A 7.95-inch foldable display with approximately 2K resolution.
- Technology Highlights: The display combines COE (Color-on-Encapsulation) for vibrant images, LTPO for adaptive refresh rates for better power efficiency, and UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) for increased durability.
- Processor: The Huawei Mate X7 is expected to be powered by the next-generation Kirin 9030 chipset, which is also expected to be featured in the Mate 80 Pro models.

Huawei is not compromising on camera performance with its foldable phone. Leaks suggest the Mate X7 will feature enhancements that will elevate the photography experience. Huawei is reportedly testing two main sensors for the Mate X7: a 50-megapixel (1/1.56-inch) sensor with physical variable aperture support and a slightly larger 50-megapixel (1/1.3-inch) sensor.
The device will also feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with macro capabilities and a multi-spectral sensor to improve overall image quality. DCS adds that the Mate X7 will feature a larger battery (around 5,500 mAh, according to other reports) and a lighter and thinner design.
Huawei is expected to offer its new foldable flagship in five different colors:
- Obsidian Black
- Phantom Purple
- Cosmic Red
- Cloud Blue
- Cloud White
