DJI’s unusually busy release schedule this quarter continues, and the company has no plans to slow down. New rumors point to a global launch date for the brand’s highly anticipated next action camera, the Osmo Action 6. If the leaks are accurate, this model could bring DJI’s biggest imaging upgrade to date.
Global Launch Could Be November 19
According to a new report from The New Camera, DJI plans to unveil the Osmo Action 6 on November 19. This date falls just days after the brand launched the DJI Neo 2 drone in China.

While the source didn’t release any screenshots or documents to confirm the claim, it’s based on an email allegedly sent by a DJI “brand insider” to YouTuber PhotoRabz. While this suggests a delay from its previous October target, it fits well with DJI’s recent global launch schedule.
DJI has recently been focusing on a variety of product lines, not just drones and cameras, but also the Romo series robot vacuum cleaners and the upcoming Osmo Mobile 8, which is expected to launch outside of China. With such a busy pipeline, a late November launch of the Osmo Action 6 doesn’t seem far-fetched.
If the leaks are accurate, the Osmo Action 6 could offer the most significant imaging leap since the DJI Osmo Action 4. The device is rumored to feature a 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor. This means a larger sensor than both the Action 4 and Action 5 Pro. A larger sensor promises better low-light performance and richer detail.
Rumors of a variable aperture system (f/2.0 to f/4.0), a rare feature in action cameras, are also adding to the excitement. This feature will give users much more precise control over exposure in bright outdoor or dimly lit environments.
Video capabilities could also see a significant leap forward. The Action 6 is expected to support 8K resolution recording at 30 fps (frames per second). Despite all these significant upgrades, the device’s starting price is expected to remain competitive at $329.
