Toyota is unveiling the new generation of the Hilux, which will replace the model that has been on the market since 2015, in Thailand on November 10th. The Japanese manufacturer has included its first official teaser video in this important launch announcement, confirming that the refreshed model will feature a sharper design and a 48V diesel engine.
The new Toyota Hilux is revealed
The video shared by Toyota Thailand offers the first clear look at the pickup’s exterior design. The front of the new Hilux, which will continue to be one of the brand’s most important models, reflects the brand’s recent design cues.
The design features slimmed-down LED headlights, a muscular hood, and a bumper with larger air intakes. The “TOYOTA” logo, written in large font, now sits squarely in the center of the grille. The Hilux logo is prominent at the rear.
While the official teaser video doesn’t offer any interior glimpses, previously leaked photos reveal a significant redesign of the cabin. Inside, a sharper-edged dashboard features a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment screen. With improved material quality and new upholstery options, the model now offers a more SUV-like experience.
Toyota remains committed to preserving the Hilux’s long-standing identity. Therefore, the new model uses an updated IMV chassis instead of the TNGA-F platform. However, this revised infrastructure and enhanced driver assistance systems bring the vehicle’s ride comfort up to date.
Under the hood is a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine powered by 48V technology. This engine produces 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Power transmission will be provided via an automatic transmission in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive versions.
As always, production of the model continues in Thailand. Toyota is preparing to add full hybrid and all-electric Hilux versions to its product line in the future. All technical details, pricing information and equipment options for the new generation Hilux will be announced during the official launch on November 10.
