Apple is preparing to enter the foldable smartphone market. Rumors suggest the first foldable iPhone will have a completely different design than its competitors. Here are all the details about the device, which will rival the Samsung Galaxy Fold series.
Expected Design for the Foldable iPhone
Apple is reportedly testing two form factors: “book-style” and “clamshell.” However, the book-style model, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold, is expected to be the first to be released. This model is said to have a 7.74-inch main display and a 5.49-inch cover display. It is also rumored to feature a titanium alloy chassis.

Apple’s biggest goal is to completely eliminate the crease (crease) on the display. Therefore, it is working on a “liquid metal” hinge and special technologies to increase durability. Due to the design complexity, the device may use Touch ID instead of Face ID.
The device is expected to be powered by TSMC’s A20 Pro chip, which will be manufactured using a 2nm process. This chip could be accompanied by 12GB of RAM and Apple’s own C2 5G modem. On the camera front, four cameras are rumored: two on the back, one on the cover, and one on the inner display. The rear cameras are also rumored to be 48MP.
Potential buyers will need to prepare their wallets. Analysts predict the foldable iPhone will cost between $1,999 and $2,500. High production costs are cited as the main reason for this price. However, the device is expected to be unveiled in September 2026.
