Netflix’s globally acclaimed series, Stranger Things, returns to screens after a long hiatus of over three years. The highly anticipated fifth season, which will also be its finale, premieres on November 27th. However, for fans eagerly awaiting the new season, Netflix has a surprise in store, having already released the first five-minute opening sequence of season 5.
Stranger Things is Coming with a New Season
Vecna, the series’ main villain who terrorized Season 4, will become the main threat in Season 5. The newly released season premiere scene references the first season and reiterates Vecna’s pivotal role in the story. In the final season, Eleven and her friends will join forces to defeat Vecna once and for all. In this final battle, the residents of Hawkins will reunite and fight the final battle.
The Duffer Brothers, the series’ creators, have likened Season 5 to “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” This analogy suggests that viewers will witness the epic finale of the battle against Vecna, while also saying goodbye to beloved characters, as in The Return of the King.
The series’ main cast, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton, return in their respective roles for the final season. The most important addition to the cast for this final adventure will be veteran actress Linda Hamilton, known for her role as Sarah Connor in the Terminator series.
Unlike previous seasons, the final season of Stranger Things will air in three parts. The first part will air on November 27th, and the second part will air on December 26th. The grand finale will air on January 1st. This allows fans to follow the final season on a spread-out schedule.
