DJI Neo 2 has officially started its global rollout, bringing LiDAR, improved obstacle detection, and a better gimbal camera to the company’s palm-sized drone series. Following its October debut in China, it’s now launching in Europe, Canada, and Brazil with a starting price of €239.
DJI Neo 2 adds full obstacle sensing to a lightweight frame

Weighing in at 151 grams, the Neo 2 stays comfortably under most drone registration thresholds. That said, it packs in more tech than its predecessor. A ring of optical and infrared sensors surrounds the frame, offering front-facing LiDAR for depth detection and downward sensors for more stable landings. That’s a major shift from the first-gen Neo, which left flyers on their own when it came to avoiding trees, walls, and wires.
Two-axis gimbal stabilizes DJI Neo 2’s upgraded camera
The Neo 2 still uses a 12 MP 1/2-inch CMOS sensor, but now it’s mounted on a two-axis gimbal instead of a single-axis one. Combined with boosted HDR processing, the camera handles motion and light shifts far better. It records in 4K at up to 100 fps more than triple the Neo’s old 30 fps cap which means slow-motion clips and flying footage now look smoother and less jittery.
More flight time and faster transfers
Flight time climbs modestly to 19 minutes per charge. Internal storage gets bumped to 49 GB, enough for about 100 minutes of 4K/60 fps video. And here’s a perk: you can send files over Wi-Fi at speeds up to 80 MB/s no cable needed.
DJI Neo 2 still supports hands-free flying
Gesture and voice controls return, making it easy to operate without a controller. But if you want more range, the RC-N3 controller extends the flight distance up to 10 kilometers. For an immersive first-person view, the Neo 2 can pair with DJI’s Goggles and Motion Controller.
Pricing tiers offer flexible bundles
Shoppers can choose from four retail packages, depending on how many extras they want. Here’s a breakdown:
- Neo 2 (Drone Only) – €239 (~$277)
- Neo 2 Fly More Combo (Drone Only) – €329 (~$382)
- Neo 2 Fly More Combo – €399 (~$463)
- Neo 2 Motion Fly More Combo – €579 (~$671)
DJI Care Refresh is available for each version, covering collisions, flyaways, and accidental damage.
Neo 2 arrives small, but thinks smart
The Neo 2 doesn’t reinvent DJI’s drone playbook but it doesn’t have to. It improves flight stability, camera quality, and safety without sacrificing the pocket-sized appeal. LiDAR and a two-axis gimbal in a 151 g frame? That’s no small upgrade.
