The Legend of Zelda, one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, is coming to the big screen. Filming for the film adaptation, a collaboration between Sony and Nintendo, recently began, and the first images from the film have been released.

The first images have been released to fans via the Nintendo Today app. The shared images show the young actors portraying the series’ two main characters, Princess Zelda and the heroic hero Link, in costume for the first time.

The film stars Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. The Legend of Zelda series follows the adventures of young Link and Princess Zelda as they fight to save the fantasy kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Ganon.

Wes Ball is the director of this highly anticipated film adaptation. Ball is best known for directing the popular The Maze Runner film series, as well as the latest installment of the Planet of the Apes series, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
