DJI, a leading player in the action camera market, has announced its latest flagship model, the Osmo Action 6. The new camera is poised to attract the attention of professional users, particularly with its video quality, battery performance, and underwater shooting capabilities.
Next-Generation Image Quality
The Osmo Action 6’s most striking features come from hardware we’re not used to seeing in an action camera before. The device boasts a large 1/1.1-inch sensor, promising better light sensitivity and low-light performance. Its variable aperture, adjustable from F/2.0 to F/4.0, gives users greater control over exposure in varying lighting conditions.

The new sensor offers up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range, helping to preserve detail in the brightest and darkest areas. The camera can record up to 120 fps at 4K resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Thanks to the advanced sensor, SuperNight mode promises clear 4K 60 fps video recording even in low light.
DJI’s 10-bit D-Log M color system preserves highlight and shadow details for greater flexibility in post-production. An on-screen D-Log M preview is also available for monitoring color and exposure during shooting.
The Osmo Action 6 offers creative solutions thanks to its square-shaped sensor. The new 4K Custom Mode eliminates the worry of positioning the camera vertically or horizontally while shooting. Users can shoot as desired and crop later in post-production. It also features the ability to zoom up to 2x lossless at 4K resolution. All these features are supported by the built-in advanced stabilization system.
The Osmo Action 6 offers up to four hours of use thanks to its 1,950 mAh battery. The battery pack is notable for reaching 80% charge in 22 minutes. It is waterproof to 20 meters without the need for an additional case, and this depth can be extended to 60 meters with the external waterproof case.
A built-in color temperature sensor ensures lifelike colors underwater, and a water pressure gauge records dive data. The device includes 50GB of internal storage. The main screen has a 2.5-inch (400×712) resolution, while the secondary screen has a 1.46-inch (342×342) resolution, both supporting a peak brightness of 800 nits.
