Netflix’s global phenomenon, Squid Game, will continue to air even though its main series has ended. The company has begun preparations for the next Squid Game series. This new series, set in the United States, is being created by veteran director David Fincher.
Squid Game America Filming Begins
The filming date for Squid Game: America, which has been in the news for some time, has been announced. Filming was previously rumored to begin in December. However, the release date has been postponed. According to the latest information from Collider, filming for Squid Game: America begins on February 26th.

The series’ short four months of filming means the cast will be slowly forming. However, no cast members have been announced so far.
Cate Blanchett, who made a brief appearance at the end of Squid Game, is rumored to be cast in this new series, but no official announcement has been made. Squid Game: America isn’t a remake of the original series, but rather an extension—a spin-off—set in America. The series was written by Dennis Kelly, known for his work on Utopia, and will be produced in Los Angeles.
Netflix’s expansion of the Squid Game universe isn’t limited to these series. The company also launched a reality show based on the original series, Squid Game: The Challenge, featuring real-world contestants.
