Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids finally has a release date, and it’s coming sooner than most expected. Grinding Gear Games will unveil the update live on December 4, and players can dive into the new league just a week later.
Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids brings new class and content

As the name suggests, this league introduces a Druid class to the ARPG. While details on abilities remain under wraps, a new weapon type often comes with each class. Whether the Druid will lean into nature-based magic or something more primal remains to be seen but early speculation suggests axes could make a return.
Path of Exile 2 patch 0.4 will be fully revealed on December 4
The full showcase for patch 0.4 kicks off at 11:00 AM PST on December 4. The stream will walk through the Druid, changes coming to the game systems, and the usual league mechanics Path of Exile fans expect every few months.
This league will go live on December 11. That gives players just a few days to digest what’s coming before stepping into the new grind.
Free-to-play weekend will follow the launch
From December 12 to 15, the game will be completely free to try across all platforms, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. That window won’t be enough to see everything Path of Exile 2 has in store, but it’s long enough to get hooked.
Here’s what to expect during the free trial:
- Full access to the new league
- All progress carries over if you keep playing
- Available on PC, PS5, and Xbox
- Runs December 12–15
- No cost or subscription required
League structure remains unchanged for Path of Exile 2
Just like its predecessor, Path of Exile 2 will continue to run leagues in four-month cycles. Characters created during the league will shift into the Standard league once it ends. That structure keeps fresh content rotating regularly while preserving your progress.
Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids is almost here
Whether you’re a longtime exile or just curious about the grind, this league might be the perfect time to jump in. The new class, the early reveal, and the free weekend all set the stage for a strong December run. Keep your flasks ready chaos is coming.
