    Self-destructing external SSD is coming!

TeamGroup has announced an external SSD model that can self-destruct in emergency situations.

TeamGroup has launched the T-Create Expert P35S, the world’s first external SSD with a one-click self-destruct feature, aimed at professionals who need secure storage and rapid data destruction in critical situations. This new product stands out with its ability to instantly and permanently erase sensitive data.

TeamGroup has not yet announced the product’s price or release date, but it is stated that the device will be available in four different capacity options, from 256GB to 2TB. While the device’s exterior features a button that makes the entire drive unusable with a single press, special security measures have been added to prevent accidental data loss.

The self-destruct button features a two-stage slide mechanism to prevent accidental triggering. The first stage acts as a standby mode, activated by gently pressing the button.

To initiate the data destruction process, the second stage requires applying significantly more force to the button. When this second stage is activated and the SSD is inserted into the computer, the irreversible destruction process begins. Crucially, the destruction process continues unabated and continues unabated even if the drive is removed from the computer.

TeamGroup claims that this method leaves “zero data residue” on the drive, completely eliminating the possibility of data recovery. Therefore, the device is designed specifically for professionals who carry confidential and sensitive information, not for personal backup or daily storage.

In addition to its self-destruct feature, the T-Create Expert P35S offers read and write speeds of up to 1,000 MB/s via the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connection. The device is approximately 9 cm long and weighs only 42 grams.
