As the Japanese release date for the eagerly awaited Forza Horizon 6 is confirmed, important details about its release date have begun to leak. According to reports, the game will be released outside of its traditional autumn schedule.
Forza Horizon 6 May Be Delayed
Forza Horizon 6, long developed by Playground Games and one of the most notable announcements of Tokyo Game Show 2025, is bringing the series to Japan this time. The game’s release date has not yet been officially announced.

However, leaks from reliable sources suggest that this uncertainty is now over. Forza Horizon 6 is abandoning the series’ traditional autumn window and aiming for a release in the first half of 2026.
This release window isn’t just a developmental decision. Leaks indicate that this strategic decision was made to avoid the massive impact of GTA VI, which has been delayed to November 2026. If released in the first half of 2026 (H1 2026), Forza Horizon 6 will have the longest development time in the series.
New leaks confirm that the game’s open-world structure is built around three main regions. These regions include Tokyo’s city center with its dense and layered roads, stunning coastlines, and winding mountain passes.
In this game, Playground Games, instead of focusing solely on map size, emphasizes map density, verticality, and driving variety. The gameplay also sees a notable revamp. Like the first Forza Horizon, the new game will utilize a career model that starts with slower-class vehicles and gradually progresses players to more powerful models.
