Mercedes-Benz has begun distributing the MBUX 3.3 software update over-the-air (OTA) to more than 700,000 of its vehicles. This major update takes in-car entertainment, productivity, and voice command features to a new level.
Mercedes MBUX 3.3 Update Coming
One of the most significant innovations of the update is its enhanced audio experience:
- Amazon Music App: With MBUX 3.3, the Amazon Music app is now integrated directly into the vehicle infotainment system.
- Dolby Atmos Support: Dolby Atmos technology, which provides an immersive sound experience for music, audiobooks, and video content, is now supported in the Amazon Music, Audible, and Tidal apps.
- IMAX Enhanced and DTS:X: Sony Pictures’ Ridevu app has added support for the IMAX Enhanced format with DTS:X audio, providing passengers with a more cinematic video experience.

Mercedes is also integrating new productivity tools that transform the car into a mobile office:
- New Calendar App: A new Calendar app is being added, offering unified login and “integration with productivity apps for easier in-car management of meetings and schedules.”
- Microsoft Teams Support: Users will be able to initiate Microsoft Teams calls directly from the Calendar app.
- Day Summary with Voice Command: Voice control makes it possible to voice-request your daily plan or summary.
There are also new features to make driving breaks more enjoyable:
- New Game Pack: A hand-selected pack of retro-style mini games designed for quick fun during breaks or while the vehicle is stationary.
- Expanded Voice Assistant: The MBUX Voice Assistant (Hey Mercedes) now allows you to adjust additional vehicle settings via voice command. While Mercedes hasn’t provided a full list of these settings, users will need to discover these new commands themselves when they receive the update for their vehicle.
This update is being rolled out via OTA to over 700,000 compatible vehicles running on the third-generation software platform, including the current Mercedes-Benz GLC, C-Class, CLE and E-Class.
