Rainbow Six Siege, a giant in the tactical FPS world, celebrated its 10th anniversary on December 1, 2025. Instead of marking this significant milestone with a simple event, Ubisoft is celebrating with a new mode that completely changes the rules of the game and invites pure chaos. The Rainbow Six Siege Wildcards mode, which began on December 15th and will run until January 5th, 2026, promises unforgettable moments for players.
A new rule every round: What is Wildcards mode?
The new mode pays homage to the game’s 10-year history while making each match more unpredictable than the last. Featuring a total of 28 different modifiers, players vote on which rule will apply at the beginning of each round. In case of a tie, the system randomly selects a crazy rule.
Here are some of the standout chaos rules:
- Multipick: Everyone on the team can choose the same operator.
- Frag Domination: Grenades appear in random locations on the map throughout the round.
- Frag Grenade Cooking: Attackers are equipped with the 556XI, defenders with the MP5K, and both sides have cookable grenades.
- Giant Chicken Surprise: In a nod to an iconic glitch in the game’s history, a giant chicken might suddenly appear on your screen!
The veteran game underwent its biggest change in history with the Rainbow Six Siege X update released last June. This update introduced a free-to-play model, offering Unranked, Quick Match, and Dual Front modes for free with a limited operator pool.
If you want to take this experience a step further, the $15.99 Elite Edition unlocks Ranked matches and allows you to participate in the Siege Cup. For those who want to remove all limitations, the $31.99 Ultimate Edition provides instant access to all 52 operators.
So, do you think Ubisoft’s chaotic Rainbow Six Siege Wildcards mode celebration was a fitting event for the 10th anniversary? Are you ready to face the giant chicken? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
