Xiaomi is closing out the year with another major product showcase. CEO Lu Weibing has hinted at a December 17 launch event, with the long-rumored Xiaomi 17 Ultra expected to take center stage. Alongside it, the Redmi Turbo 5 series and a wave of new hardware may also make their first appearance.
Xiaomi ramps up year-end product push

After launching the Xiaomi 15T series globally and the Redmi K90 lineup in China, Xiaomi appears far from finished. Rumors suggest the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will land before Christmas, and Weibing’s latest Weibo post supports that claim. He teased the company’s upcoming conference on December 17, fueling speculation that the 17 Ultra will headline the show.
Redmi Turbo 5 may join Xiaomi 17 Ultra on stage
A new Redmi device with the model number 2602BRT18C has appeared in China’s SRRC certification database. Industry watchers believe this model belongs to the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 series. While specs are still under wraps, the timing of the listing lines up perfectly with Xiaomi’s December event.
The Redmi Turbo 5 will reportedly target the mid-range market and could share the stage with other Dimensity-powered phones. Tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that Xiaomi will also unveil models using the Dimensity 8 and Dimensity 9 chipsets in the same cycle.
What to expect from Xiaomi’s December event
Based on current leaks and regulatory filings, Xiaomi could announce a full lineup of new products on December 17. Here’s what’s rumored to be coming:
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra flagship
- Redmi Turbo 5 series smartphones
- New smartwatch
- Two pairs of wireless headphones
- Mid-range tablet
- IoT ecosystem devices
With the Spring Festival kicking off on February 16, Xiaomi may use this window to refresh key segments across its portfolio, from premium phones to affordable wearables.
Launch window narrows ahead of Spring Festival
Xiaomi typically front-loads product releases before the Lunar New Year, and this year looks no different. Between now and February 16, expect to see the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Redmi Turbo 5 land in China, if not globally alongside a range of smart accessories and ecosystem products. With Dimensity chips making a stronger appearance, the lineup could mix flagship features with more aggressive pricing.
