Retroid Pocket 6 shows off real-world design in new images
The Retroid Pocket 6 is finally stepping out of the render phase. Ahead of its January 2026 shipping window, Retroid has shared the first live images of its next Android-powered handheld, giving fans a better look at both the dual-layout design and two of its six color options.
Two layouts, two looks: D-Pad design splits the lineup

Unlike its predecessors, the Retroid Pocket 6 comes in two physical layouts one with the D-Pad above the left analog stick, and another with the D-Pad below. The new photos reveal both formats: the Black variant uses the top-mounted D-Pad, while the Orange variant (which appears more yellow in tone) features the lower layout. This gives players a choice based on comfort and preference whether you favor fighting games or dual-stick shooters.

Photos show more than the face
The newly released shots don’t just show the front of the handheld. They also offer a look at the rear, bottom ports, and vent placement, revealing a thoughtful layout with accessible back buttons, airflow management, and what looks like solid port placement for USB-C and audio.
High-end specs in a pocketable form
Under the hood, the Retroid Pocket 6 is built to compete. It features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Power comes from a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, paired with either:

It also supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and houses a 6,000mAh battery a serious upgrade from older models. The device ships with Android 13, giving it access to a wide range of mobile apps, streaming services, and emulation options.
