Xiaomi is reportedly breaking its long silence with the new Redmi K100 series, a successor to the K90 line from four years ago. Leaked information suggests two powerful models are in early development, which are expected to launch globally under the POCO brand as the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra, featuring next-generation Snapdragon processors.
Leaked Specs of the Redmi K100 Series
According to recent reports, Xiaomi is actively developing two new devices. The standard model, Redmi K100, is internally codenamed ‘athens’ (Q11). The more powerful flagship, the Redmi K100 Pro Max, is known as ‘songyuan’ (Q11X). These codenames confirm that the development process has officially begun, signaling Xiaomi’s focus on next-gen technology after a significant hiatus.
Based on Xiaomi’s previous market strategies, these models are unlikely to remain exclusive to China. Industry insiders predict that the standard Redmi K100 will be rebranded as the POCO F9 Pro for the global market. Consequently, the top-tier K100 Pro Max is highly anticipated to be released worldwide as the POCO F9 Ultra.

Next-Generation Snapdragon Power
On the hardware front, both phones are expected to push performance boundaries. The leaks suggest they will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipsets. The Redmi K100 (POCO F9 Pro) is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Furthermore, the high-end Redmi K100 Pro Max (POCO F9 Ultra) is slated to come with an even newer and more powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Xiaomi’s return to the K series with such powerful specifications, combined with its global launch strategy under the POCO brand, is set to intensify market competition. The significant performance leap between the processors will likely attract the attention of mobile gaming enthusiasts.
