Locally Produced Honda PCX 125 Launches in Turkey

Honda Turkey has launched the domestically produced Honda PCX 125 in İzmir. Explore the new technical specifications, safety features, and pricing details.

Honda Turkey has officially commenced the domestic sale of the new Honda PCX 125 (DLX) model, which is being manufactured at the company’s production facility in the Aliağa district of İzmir. Available to consumers as of today, the latest iteration of the popular scooter enters the market with a starting price tag of 189,000 TL. By leveraging local production capabilities, Honda aims to strengthen its presence in the competitive urban mobility segment while offering a balance of performance and fuel efficiency tailored to the needs of Turkish riders.

    • The Honda PCX 125 is now being manufactured locally at the Aliağa plant in İzmir.
    • The vehicle is equipped with a 125 cc eSP+ engine that balances fuel economy with performance.
    • Safety features include an ABS-supported disc braking system and Honda Selectable Torque Control.
    • The scooter achieves a range of approximately 385 kilometers on a single tank of fuel.

    Engine Technology Enhances Performance

At the heart of the new model lies a 125 cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine featuring the advanced Smart Power Plus (eSP+) four-valve configuration. This powertrain is designed to optimize combustion efficiency while minimizing friction within the engine block. It produces 9.2 kW of power at 8,750 rpm and 11.7 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, ensuring responsive acceleration in heavy traffic conditions.

The integration of Stop-Start technology significantly reduces fuel consumption during frequent urban stops.

According to WMTC standards, the scooter consumes approximately 2.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. Given the 8.1-liter fuel tank capacity, riders can cover up to 385 kilometers before needing to refuel, making it a highly economical choice for daily commuting.

    Safety Features Provide Enhanced Security

Safety remains a primary focus for the new Honda PCX 125. The vehicle is equipped with an ABS-assisted front disc brake, complemented by a reliable rear disc brake system. This configuration is engineered to prevent wheel locking during sudden braking, providing riders with increased confidence on slippery or unpredictable urban surfaces.

The inclusion of the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system actively manages rear-wheel traction to ensure stability.

The structural integrity of the scooter is bolstered by a dual-cradle steel frame, which provides the necessary rigidity for agile maneuvering. This chassis design, combined with a telescopic front fork and a dual-shock rear suspension system with reservoirs, ensures that comfort is maintained even during prolonged periods of operation. The aesthetic appeal of the motorcycle is further enhanced by its sleek alloy wheels, which contribute to its overall modern and sophisticated urban profile.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this new locally produced model and whether you think it will change the landscape of urban commuting in Turkey; feel free to share your comments below.
