Porsche found that brake hoses can gradually wear out over time due to repeated flexing and bending stresses in the front brake section. This could lead to hose breakage and fluid leakage.
According to the company, brake hose failure significantly increases the stopping distance of the vehicle, putting drivers and other passengers at risk of an accident. To solve this problem, Porsche plans to replace the brake hoses.
Engineers say this modified part reduces friction and is less likely to bottleneck over the life of the vehicle.
The recall affects the rear-wheel-drive Taycan and higher-end Taycan Turbo and Turbo S versions built between 2020 and 2022. In this context, it was stated that nearly 80 thousand vehicles will be recalled.
It was stated that the repair process will take about two hours and will be done free of charge. The company will contact its customers in the coming days.
