The iconic Batman franchise is finally getting ready to expand. The latest leaks reveal that Warner Bros. Games wants to make a game set in director Matt Reeves’ The Batman movie universe.
What will the new Batman game look like?
Warner Bros Discovery wants to expand the universe that debuted in 2022 and stars Robert Pattinson. Considering that the spin-off series The Penguin, which will air on HBO Max, will also be included in this universe, it will expand even more with the game.
Details about the game itself are still unclear, but the report says that it is being developed in conjunction with The Penguin. This means that the game could be connected to the character of Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, the focal point of the series.
The new production will be the first major Batman production not set in the Arkham universe since 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight. It will offer the opportunity to bring Reeves’ detective-oriented vision of Batman to the gaming world. Of course, the developer is expected to be Rocksteady Studios, which makes the Batman games.
The Penguin is set to premiere this September, with a sequel planned for 2026. This means that Reeves’ Batman world will expand with the game. In 2026 we could see the new Batman game.
Development is said to still be ongoing, so more details about the game are vague. However, reports have indicated that Warner Bros Discovery is committed to the game division and sees the new production as strategic.
