WhatsApp brings the magic wand feature for video calls
WhatsApp is introducing a new “magic wand” button that offers magical effects for video calls. This button activates various effects and filters powered by AR (Augmented Reality) technology. With dynamic face filters and live retouching tools, video calls will become more enjoyable.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also working on a low-light mode. This mode will provide better image quality even in poor lighting conditions. Additionally, tools for live background editing are being developed, allowing you to easily hide distracting elements in the background during video calls.
WhatsApp will allow users to use personalized avatars for video calls. Alongside these features, WhatsApp has started using a new audio codec called Meta Low Bitrate (MLow) to improve audio and video quality. This codec will offer clearer sound by reducing background noise and echo even in low bandwidth environments. Additionally, higher resolution video calls will be possible on fast connections.
